The Institute of Nuclear Technology – Radiation Protection of NCSR-DEMOKRITOS will host the 11th Steering Committee meeting of the NET European Network on 4-5 June 2007.

The European Network on Neutron Techniques Standardization for Structural Integrity (NET) – established in 2002 – is a Network of European academic and industrial organizations, which jointly address structural integrity related problems in nuclear materials and components in relation to particular manufacturing processes, e.g. welding. The application of neutron diffraction for residual stress analyses and Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) for the assessment of defects or precipitates in materials is the core activity of NET. Numerical assessment of stresses and the application of complementary or alternative testing techniques form the other pillars of the Network. Currently some 35 European organizations and one partner from Korea contribute to the Network.
